What Do You Love About Pivot 5? Tell Me.

Dear Pivot 5 reader,

Soon after ChatGPT took the world by storm, I found myself drowning in AI headlines.

Each day felt like an avalanche of announcements, and I felt the pressure to “know everything” happening in this industry. I felt overwhelmed and distracted. Keeping up felt impossible.

I needed simplicity. Something clear, easy to digest, and relevant.

But I couldn’t find it. So, I built Pivot 5 to solve a problem I had.

This AI newsletter started as an experiment: a way for me to cut through the noise and stay on top of the industry. I’m not a developer deep into the details of AI models, I’ve never actually run one on my own. Nor am I a casual consumer, who occasionally uses or references ChatGPT.

I’m an entrepreneur, investor and a professional who wants to follow the AI industry from a business perspective. That’s who Pivot 5 is designed for—and it seems to have resonated.

Today, 60,000 of you subscribe. With an average daily open rate of 25% and over 3 million email opens last year, you’ve made this a rare success in the crowded world of AI newsletters. 12% of you click on a Pivot 5 headline each day. And only 0.09% have unsubscribed. You clearly are curious, engaged and trust Pivot 5 in your daily life.

Behind the scenes, there’s a small team picking the stories, and AI tools are used to generate the summaries and images. We briefly experimented with ads in the newsletter—not to make money, but to see if they could highlight new tools and products you might find useful. But they added clutter, so we removed them.

My intention has never been to make Pivot 5 the biggest or loudest AI newsletter. My intention is to make Pivot 5 the most useful for you.

It is time to evolve the Pivot 5 experiment—and this time, I want to hear directly from you.

What do you love about Pivot 5? What keeps you opening it day after day?

If you could change one thing, what would it be?

Write to me with your ideas and feedback. Let’s make Pivot 5 better together, for all of us.

Thank you for being here. You’ve built Pivot 5 with me, one open email at a time.

Let’s see where we can take it next,

Kunal
