Adobe

Adobe Firefly Image 3 Model powers the latest generative AI features in Photoshop (beta) app, allowing users to create stunning, lifelike images with more control than ever before. Generative Fill allows users to quickly explore and experiment with ideas, while new features like Reference Image and Generate Similar allow for more ideas, change backgrounds in photos seamlessly, expand images in any direction, and create scenes from scratch with Text to Image.

The app also allows users to make entire scenes from scratch, with Text to Image allowing for quick creations featuring people, places, and more. Generate Background allows users to add or replace a background that matches the lighting, shadows, and perspective of their subject in fewer steps.

2. AI can predict political orientations from blank faces

A study published in American Psychologist found that artificial intelligence can accurately predict a person's political orientation based on expressionless faces. 5. Cops are using AI cameras to generate police reports

Axon, a $22 billion police contractor, has launched a tool called Draft One that can transcribe audio from body cameras and automatically turn it into a police report. The tool claims to have reduced time spent writing reports by 82%, potentially freeing up 25% of an officer's time to be back out policing.

Critics are concerned that AI could put people at risk by relying on language models known to "hallucinate" or display racial bias. Axon advises against using the AI for incidents as serious as a police shooting, where vital information could be missed.
