The data includes links to YouTube channels owned by major entertainment companies, creators, and news outlets. The company used proxies to avoid Google blocking the videos.

Runway's Gen-3 Alpha tool can create videos in any style and requires a wide range of content. The dataset also contains links to piracy sites like KissCartoon. It is unclear whether Runway used all the videos in the spreadsheet to train its Gen-3 Alpha model. OpenAI CTO Mira Murati has also been unsure if its text-to-video generator, Sora, trained on YouTube.
