As part of the agreement, OpenAI will also become an advertising partner on Reddit, running ads on the platform.

OpenAI has been striking partnerships with publishers to get data to continue training its AI models. Last year, Reddit faced contentious issues after it announced it would start charging developers to use its API, forcing dozens of third-party Reddit clients to shut down and thousands of subreddits going dark in protest.
