Publishers can block Applebot-Extended by updating the Robots Exclusion Protocol, or robots.txt, which governs how bots scrape the web. Many publishers have already updated their robots.txt files to block AI bots from major AI players. However, the vast majority of website owners are unaware of the option to block Applebot-Extended.

Amazon is relaunching its voice assistant Alexa with revamped AI features, with the upgraded Alexa Plus reportedly costing up to $10 a month.
