1. NY Times sues OpenAI and Microsoft over copyright infringement

The New York Times has filed a lawsuit against OpenAI and Microsoft, alleging the misuse of its copyrighted material in training various GPT Large Language Models. The suit claims that OpenAI's tools not only used the Times' content during training but also allow users to bypass its paywall and attribute false information to the publication. 

The Times is demanding the deletion of all GPT instances trained with its material, as well as the datasets used for training. The suit seeks a permanent injunction against similar future conduct and substantial monetary compensation. This legal action underscores the growing concern over AI's use of copyrighted content and its potential to harm reputations and revenue streams.
