1. Nokia CEO makes world's first 'immersive' phone call
Nokia has introduced "immersive audio and video" technology, which improves the quality of phone calls with three-dimensional sound, making interactions more lifelike. The technology is part of the upcoming 5G Advanced standard and Nokia aims to get licensing opportunities for the technology, which is expected to take a few years to be widely available.
The technology will bring 3D audio, allowing callers to hear everything as if they were there with the other person. Nokia Technologies CEO Jenni Lukander called the technology the biggest leap forward in the live voice calling experience since the introduction of monophonic telephony audio used in smartphones and PCs today.

2. Google AI proposes a Machine Learning framework for understanding AI Models in medical imaging
Google's StylEx framework uses generative AI to address the lack of explainability in AI models in medical imaging. The framework uses a StyleGAN-based image generator guided by a classifier to generate hypotheses by identifying and visualizing visual signals correlated with the classifier's predictions.
The workflow involves training a classifier, training a StylEx model, automatically detecting and visualizing top visual attributes, and having an interdisciplinary panel review the findings. This approach enhances the explainability of AI models in medical imaging, providing a deeper understanding of the model's decisions.

3. Forget Sora — Kling is a killer new AI video model that just dropped
A new AI video model called Kling appears to offer many of the same features that made OpenAI's Sora stand out when it was first announced earlier this year.
Built by the Chinese video platform company Kuaishou, its features include longer video generations, improved movement, better prompt following and multi-shot sequences. Unlike Sora, it seems Kling is already being made available to users through a waitlist.

4. Microsoft’s Recall feature will now be opt-in and double encrypted after privacy outcry
Microsoft has made significant changes to its AI-powered Recall feature, part of the Copilot+ PCs, in response to criticism from security researchers about potential privacy risks. The company will make Recall opt-in during PC setup, require biometric authentication to access stored data, and add additional layers of encryption.
The changes will be implemented before the feature's public release on June 18. The additional encryption will make it harder for attackers or unauthorized users to access the potentially sensitive data captured by Recall, as stored screenshots will now be double encrypted and only decryptable with the authenticated user's biometrics.

5. Elon Musk drops lawsuit against OpenAI
Elon Musk has dropped his lawsuit against OpenAI and its CEO, Sam Altman, accusing the company of breaching contract and abandoning its mission of creating AI technology for humanity. The case was dismissed without prejudice, allowing Musk to file it again.
Musk's decision comes just one day before a scheduled hearing where the judge would have reviewed OpenAI's request to dismiss the case. The lawsuit alleged that OpenAI breached an agreement with Musk and other founding members, who committed to making OpenAI a nonprofit and keeping its technology open source. OpenAI denied Musk's claims and denied any agreement with him.
