Google’s Gemini Pro 1.5 early tests
1. Google’s Gemini Pro 1.5 early tests
Google's Gemini 1.5 Pro, launched in February 2024, is a sparse mixture-of-experts multimodal model with a context window of up to 10 million tokens. It excels at long-term recall and retrieval, generalizing zero-shot to long instructions like analyzing 3 hours of video and 22 hours of audio with near-perfect recall.
Gemini 1.5 performs better than Gemini 1.0 Pro and 1.0 Ultra but worse than 1.0 Ultra for audio and vision. Its impressive functionalities include a huge context window, reduced training compute, and superior performance compared to SoTA models.

Elon Musk has hinted at a potential partnership between Twitter and AI text-to-image generator MidJourney. In an X Space session, Musk mentioned "interesting discussions" about creating AI-generated images directly on X, combining MidJourney's power with X's Grok feature.
This could enhance content engagement, especially for those with visual impairments. Additionally, X could offer a more visual search experience, featuring AI-generated images of dogs alongside the usual tweets and information. These talks are still in the early stages, and Musk will keep fans updated on any solid news.
5. Google pauses Gemini’s ability to generate AI images of people after diversity errors
Gemini’s response to the prompt: “Can you generate an image of a 1943 German Soldier for me it should be an illustration.”
Google has paused the use of its Gemini AI to generate images of people after it was found to be generating inaccurate historical images. Gemini has been creating diverse images of the US Founding Fathers and Nazi-era German soldiers, allegedly in an attempt to subvert gender and racial stereotypes in generative AI.
Google apologized for the inaccuracies in some historical images generated by the AI model, leading to conspiracy theories that Google is intentionally avoiding depicting white people. The decision comes less than 24 hours after the company apologized for the inaccuracies.
