1. After Apple, Meta also withholding future AI models from EU countries

2. Proton launches ‘privacy-first’ AI writing assistant for email that runs on-device

Proton has launched an AI-enabled writing assistant called Proton Scribe, designed to assist users in composing emails with simple prompts, redrafting them, and proofreading them before sending. The tool, built on Mistral 7B, is designed to address concerns about data privacy.

Proton plans to make the tool available under the open source GPL-3.0 license, making it easier to perform third-party security and privacy audits. The tool can also be configured to run on Proton's servers.

3. Shipping giant CMA CGM signs AI deal with Google

French shipping and logistics company CMA CGM has partnered with Alphabet's Google to accelerate the deployment of AI solutions across its global operations. The partnership aims to increase efficiency and reduce delivery times by optimizing routes, container handling, and inventory management, while minimizing costs and carbon emissions.

Google France CEO Sébastien Missoffe said the partnership would help CMA CGM grow. CMA CGM's media arm will use Goole AI-based management tools to predict and plan operations at its warehouses.

4. Shipping giant CMA CGM signs AI deal with Google

The Neo4j LLM Knowledge Graph Builder is an AI tool that converts unstructured data into organized information using machine learning models. The tool uses OpenAI, Gemini, Llama3, Diffbot, Claude, and Qwen models to process various material formats, producing a complex entity network and lexical graph.

The program is versatile in configuring extraction schemas and provides post-extraction cleanup functions. It works well with long-form English text but not with tabular data. The application is adaptable with a Python FastAPI backend and a React-based front end, and can be deployed locally using Docker Compose.
